Looks more like the Worcestershire Senior Cup draw to me!

Leamington V Brackley? A lot of imagination there. Still, this is the pointless cup, so hope we get knocked out tout de suite.

I could go on.

Let's be honest - this isn't a "draw" at all, is it? But so what, as Berger has succinctly summed up, nobody is much bothered with it anyway. If you win it (92/93 - what memories...) or even get to the final then great. But even the losing semi-finalists will be hard-pushed to remember a thing about it three years hence.

League Cups generally remain in existence purely as a means to attract another sponsor to the League. They serve no other purpose.

A good draw for Hemel which should see us go out at an early stage. I'm still smarting from our disasterous showing in last season's final.  Rolling Eyes

Your last cup game against St Albans was a bit one sided, 10-0 to you wasn't it
Red Insure Cup Fixtures
It was, but only cos you guys did Herts FA a favour by putting a youth team in for the Charity Cup to make up the numbers. I suppose in 25 years time it will look a great result  Very Happy

This presumably wasn't a draw?  It just looks like they have arranged for teams to play a club just down the road...

Thats how it is done all the way through.

Lets face it you shouldn't have been there anyway.

Abingdon United away, at least it'll only take 10 minutes to get there!

The "draw" looks remarkably regional.

I guess it will give us something to discuss until the real fixtures are announced this morning.

We lost our last cup game against Hemel 10-0 so we'll be looking for some improvement this time.  EFMTVQWERTY left at 4-0 and were in the White Swan St Albans before it was 6.

Why have we got to play Sholing, to then play against a team from a lower league?

What sort of prize money is in the competition?
Red Insure Cup Fixtures
The first few rounds are zonal. No change from previous seasons.

While I agree everybody appears to be against the competition, I have to admit we enjoyed the night at Bromsgrove when we won it a few seasons ago.

It's interesting to note that most clubs field a 'weakened' side until the quarter or semi final stage and then think it might be worth winning after all and the first eleven suddenly appears. Smile   Smile

If I've not been too incorrectly informed I believe the eventual winners get 5000.

Why Not?
Windsor went bust, we were re-instated & Sholing had their chance to beat us and blew it. They would have lost to Windsor anyway IMO, Hemel's team on the night had some of Windsor's players in it and Sholing were awful.
But i know what UV means. twice now we've reached the final since we joined the SL and both times we've blown it.  Crying or Very sad

The line should have been drawn at the point they went bust, if they bring you in as lucky losers, what about all the other losers?

Dead right. Hemel were beaten fair and square by Windsor. There were no ineligible players or other breaches of the rules. Sholing should have been given a bye through the next round when Windsor went bust.

Trouble is the Southern League like to do things their own way, making it up as they go along...
